Is 15 too young to drive? People have been making that argument for years. Most states allow teens to begin driving between 15 and 16 years old. California decided right in the middle would be the right age, at 15½. No, you can’t just jump into a car and start driving. Like most states, California has very strict formalities to get your drivers license.

California drivers ed training really consists of two parts. Part one, is the classroom instruction. You basically go to class after school every day for about a month, and sit in class with other students. Distractions? Yeah, they are going to happen. What if…there was another way? Believe it or not, there is! You can now actually take the classroom portion online. Instead of mom and/or dad taking off work early, every day for a month, and being distracted in class, you can now enroll online, and complete your training in the comfort of you own home and your own pace.

Don’t get me wrong here, this course is not going to literally teach you how to drive. That’s not what it’s designed for. What it is designed for, is to provide one-on-one interaction and provide your classroom California drivers ed training online in order to get your learners permit. This is where the second part comes in. Regardless of whether you take drivers education the old way, or the new way through online interaction, you still have to complete a certain number of hours of driving with a parent. And finally, you’ll have to enroll for a day in a local driver school for six hours of instruction with a state approved driver.

So the bottom line is, there is the old fashion way…sitting in a boring class every day for a month, mom and dad having to figure out how to get you to drivers ed school, or, taking your California drivers ed training online, with interactive multimedia learning, at your own pace.
